Blog

This blog tells about the updates Angela makes.

It features her art but talks a bit about others, etc. as well. This does not happen in every post!

Angela is not shy in speaking up about others who have inspired her, etc.

This blog is to help create awareness of LGBTQ rights, etc. but first speaks up for Women in the arts.

However please note that if you have any political issues, etc. contact those in charge of them. This blog is mainly about art.

Thank you for understanding and Namaste

Fosse & Akhenaten

Hey you guys!

I hope that you had a wonderful weekend and have a great week.

I have a few things to share with you!!!

First I wanted to start off talking about Bob Fosse!

I talk a bit about him on my substack as well. You can find it at: https://mstaylor.substack.com/p/the-show-must-go-on

I made this to share with you all and talk a bit about how I put it together!

I DO know that there are many who create better works but still I am rather proud of it.

I tend to see mistakes in it but I honestly see mistakes in ALL of my works. There isn’t a piece that I have made without at least one mistake in it.

I bet that ALL artists nomatter what type of artist they are tend to see mistakes in their works. That fact never did stop some and it sure as heck never stopped me. Anyway, I hope that you like it.

I talk about it below and talked a bit about making a canvas as well.

Next, I have an older work Titled: Akhet made in 2021 to share! I will be talking a bit about the work and my thoughts on Akhenaten, the society at the time, etc. as well.

Akhet Date: 2021 Artist: Angela Taylor

I honestly have no memory of why I titled it Akhet. I DO however remember what the work itself is about, etc. and share that in the recording below.

As shown above, I’m on substack and listened to an interview that Valorie Clark had with Kara Cooney expaining about Akhenaten and his amazing wife Queen Nefertiti.

I have to take a moment to say thank you too Valorie Clark, Kara Cooney and everyone they work with for sharing such amazing things with the world!

My substack at the moment is talking about Bob Fosse though. To hear more about Akhenaten and learn about my feelings on him listen below. To read about him historically and learn more about him please look him up on National Geographic, etc.

Warning! This is long and probably wouldn’t be of interest to those whose interest is only about musical theatre. I would suggest listening if you love history though!

I would suggest researching it as well because I am not a historian, etc. I respect them and think they are wonderful!

I also do NOT note that not every form of epilepsy is the same. There are different types of epilepsy that affect different areas of the brain and not every form of epilepsy causes convulsions.

Akhenaten was pharoh and Tutankhamuns father.

Akhenatens main wife was Queen Nefertiti. Although, known for her beauty she no doubt had alot of strength. At that time, many strong females were worshipped.

Akhenaten ruled during Egypts New Kingdom, which declined in the 12th century B.C.E.

Akhenaten believed in one God, which was thought of as crazy at the time because people worshipped many Gods.

On Sept. 2012 Hutan Ashrafrian had a theory of Akhenatens family having epilepsy. You can read more about it here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akhenaten

I talk a bit about my thoughts on this theory, etc. below.

I also speak a bit about my studio. If you want to see pictures of my studio, you can go to my past posts. It’s amazing to me knowing how I usually create based on a deeper meaning, just as those in Egypt did.

I didn’t even think of that connection until I came across this interview with Kara Cooney! I also did not know anything about Akhenaten and was astounded when I found out.

I tend to wonder how different my room is from the rooms they had years ago.

I explain some of the meaning of my walls in this recording. Every leaf represents a person who was or is in my life just as those long ago painted symbols that meant something to them on their walls.

They probably did so for the same reason. At least the images painted on their tombs were probably for a deeper spiritual meaning that they truly believed in. I’m NOT saying that EVERY way that they believed was correct mind you. We have learnt ALOT since that time but I’m also NOT saying that I personally believe that everything they believed in was incorrect.

In my case, it helps Spiritually and is a constant reminder that I’m not alone. In their case most images were probably painted to help them after death.

I appologize ahead of time for my repeating myself so much. I tend to do that.

I hope that you all have enjoyed this post and have a wonderful week!!!

Thank you so much for listening. Last but NOT least…

Please also note that just as I am not a historian, I am not a dr. and by no means think that I know what every person with epilepsy goes through. I simply know what I’ve gone through and I am but one case.

If you are seeking medical advice please go to a medical professional.

Please feel free to leave me a comment and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Namaste,

Angela
